Hi everyone, Im happy to announce that I’m almost finish with a series that I started at the beginning of this year. The original name was Domus Ego, or the house of self. It was suppose to be a project about self discovery and transforming one’s self into what we dream of each of us.
Nonetheless, with just one session to go and a few others that need some finishing touches, this project has evolve into something else.
270º from Waterhouse is a project inspired by the work of the Pre-Raphaelite painter John W. Waterhouse. The goal of this project is to represent female symbolic and literary figures as independent from the original text, where usually the storyline is based on a masculine character. Thus leaving female figures always in a secondary storyline.
This project pretends to let the female characters be the hero of their own story by adding depth to their development. The project includes characters like Ophelia, Penelope, a housewife and a female version of Siddhartha.
the 270 degrees refer to the verticality of History, pointing down, or back, which is the way in which I relate to Art History and particularly to this wonderful painter, Waterhouse.

I will do my best to have a translation of this text on my webpage in French and Spanish by the end of the week on the Blog section. To my Quebec friends I mean no offense by this delay.

Discover more than 20 new oeuvres, including a video-art. Please If you like my work, share it with your friends¡

I hope you enjoy, and thanks for following my work.

Dearly,
Damian
